Over 20 years have passed and now officially Space Jam is coming back!
After years of rumors and badly photo-shopped movie posters, it has been announced that Space Jam 2 is really happening! Los Angeles Laker LeBron James will be starring in the movie. James will pick up where basketball hall a famer Michael Jordan left off. Black Panther’s director, Ryan Coogler has signed on to be a producer of the movie as well!
Space Jam, originally released in 1996, is to this day the highest grossing basketball movie of all time.
The main story of the movie centered on the pop culture icons the, “Looney Toons.” Fan favorites consisting of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, and Porky the pig all make their way to our world. Their mission? To recruit the help of basketball legend, Michael Jordan. The toons are facing enslavement unless they can beat the alien, “Monstars.” It all falls down to who can win a baskeball game. Through classic Looney Toon humor and cameos from other NBA Legends (Charles Barkley, Patrick Ewing, Larry Johnson, Shawn Bradley, and Muggsy Bogues) Space Jam was a critical and box office success.
