Since Disney’s D23 Expo last year, there’s been much anticipation for the sequel to fan-favorite, ‘Wreck-It Ralph’.

This is in large part due to its on-screen feature of all the Disney princesses and their original voice actors for the first time…ever!

With the first image release of the princesses, anticipation grew even more and the trailer doesn’t disappoint.  Now, me being me, I was worried our princesses of color would be overshadowed by their white counterparts and let’s be real, that’s exactly what happens.

My girl, Pocahontas got a whole sentence in though.  Of course, this is just a snippet so we’ll see what the final cut looks like.

*Sidenote: Shout out to Brandy, my Cinderella forever!

The scene is cute: showing them in their dressing room, letting their hair down, and making light of typical princess tropes.  The scene lasts 30 seconds (an hour in trailer world), smartly appealing to fans like myself. What peaked my attention, however, came after in the tail-end clip.

Ralph and Vanellope speak to a particularly trendy character named Yesss (that is how it’s spelled).  Completely clad in blue (skin included), Yesss is the one to find for any expertise on the internet – the new setting for Ralph’s heroic journey.  A closer listen reveals the subtle rasp of the distinguished Taraji P. Henson.

I do wonder why they didn’t name her “Yasss!” Taraji can definitely pull off the phrase! In any case, I was excited before, but now I can’t wait to see what flavor this character brings to the story.

Ralph Breaks The Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 opens in theaters this Thanksgiving.
